Is a there a fee to take the GED?
Yes, there is a fee. The fee to take the test is $50.00 and can only be paid with a MONEY ORDER. If for some reason you must retake the GED test, there will be a $35.00 retest fee.
How will I sign up for the test?
When you are ready to take the test, your instructor and you will sit down together to fill out the required paperwork and to choose one of the available dates. The testing site will reserve a spot for you after the paperwork has been completed, the fee has been paid, and you have shown your ID.
Are there any restrictions on scheduling the GED?
There are several restrictions placed on scheduling the test. First, you may not take it more than 3 times in a calendar year. Secondly, you must wait at least 30 days after taking the test before you can attempt it again.
What if I have a disability which could affect my performance on the GED?
If you have a known physical, mental, or emotional disability that could affect your performance on the GED, then there is a possibility that accommodations could be provided for you. Each case is considered on an individual basis. If accommodations are needed, your instructor can begin the application process.
