How is the test divided up?
There are five sections in the GED test. They are:
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
- Language Arts/Writing
- Language Arts/Reading
What score do I have to make in order to pass?
You need to make at least the following scores in order to pass:
- A minimum of 410 on each of the 5 sections of the test AND
- A minimum average score of 450 for the test as a whole
What does it mean that I have to make a 410 on each of the sections, but a 450 average for the entire test?
In order to make the 450 minimum for the test as a whole, at least some of your section scores will have to be more than the 410 minimum section score. This is the only way that the five sections will balance out to 450.
How will SALC know when I have enough skills to pass the GED?
Your progress in the program will be constantly monitored by your instructor. When it appears that you are ready to take the GED, you will be given a practice GED test. If you pass that, then the two of you can discuss signing up for the GED test.
